Overview:

In many work experiences I have designed for the social media. This ranged from designing singular posts to the branding identity of a social media campaign. I believe that social media platforms are powerful tools to spread messages, and accompanied with a killer design, social media posts have enormous impact for social change.

STORIES OF REFUGEE ENTREPRENEURS

3 - part video series for World Refugee Awareness Week 2021

The first post, featuring May and Page Anayi, was posted on STVCC’s YouTube page and shared on Facebook, where it reached 1,374 people. The following two posts collectively reached over 2,00 people. The series as a whole brought awareness to the refugee community and impact in the Lansing area.

VANGUARD PUBLIC AFFAIRS FT. TRACHELLE C. YOUNG

Timeframe: January - July 2020

Trachelle C. Young ran for Genesee County Prosecutor in 2020, on a platform of restorative justice. As the center of the Flint Water Crisis, this community particularly had suffered from a lack of accountability. I was involved in the branding and identity process, and later created social media graphics over the course of several months. While Trachelle unfortunately lost to the incumbent, it was still a privilege to have contributed to her political campaign.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Timeframe:

January - July 2020

Description: As a graphic designer at Vanguard Public Affairs, a progressive P.R. firm in Lansing, Michigan, I had the opportunity to design materials and social media posts. Clients were in various sectors, such as healthcare, politics, and energy industry. Also a notable client I designed for was AFSmith, an electrical company.

Starting as a logo concept, I designed Trachelle's campaign slogan "A Vote For Change" with bold typography and scales symbolizing the justice that Trachelle hoped to bring as the Genesee County Prosecutor. Instead of the main logo, this word graphic became widely used across Trachelle's campaign promotional materials.
